A River Left For Me
In A River Left For Me I immerse myself in the original music of Africa. I travel around in the footsteps of the legendary English music collector Hugh Tracey, who traveled to Africa between 1920 and 1970 with waxcylinder, record recorder and tape recorder, looking for the best music. I try to find out where Tracey’s passion comes from, see what is left of the old music traditions he recorded, and meet musicians and music connoisseurs who have lost their heart to this music. Slowly we find out where the passion of all these people comes from, and what makes the original African music so special. Her transcendent ability is hidden in each of us.
